NFTs are dead: The "Digital Collectible" Takeover
nfts are dying and digital collectibles are here to prosper

If you’re someone who spends any amount of money on shiny digital pictures then you’ve probably mentioned the word “NFT” in public or around people who don’t own NFTs.& If you have there’s also a high chance (50%+) that you got a severely negative reaction, or someone responded with a sentence that held the word “scam” inside.
NFTs have to die
The truth is the word NFT has an already adopted place in people’s minds: even the people who don’t respond negatively right away. The second you say “NFTs” 99% of people will have one of the following thoughts pop into their head: “NFTs are bad for the environment”, “NFTs are all scams that serve no value”, “NFTs are just a money thing”, & or “NFTs can’t improve any aspects of our current lives”In reality, none of these things are true, and NFTs can serve as a multitude of things & bring a ton of benefits to more ancient ways of trade we’ve previously been using for things like collectibles, proof of ownership, identity & more… but that doesn’t matter. Why? Because people hear NFT & their brain shoots off to what’s been told to them a hundred, maybe even thousands of times by mainstream news outlets or someone they may look up to.So, the solution to get people to be intrigued instead of just scoffing at the idea of any sort of “NFT”?Retire the word “NFT” & go forward into a new era: The Takeover of Digital Collectibles.
The Digital Collectible Takeover
Changing the name of the game is the game here.Tell people about your “Digital Collectibles” & suddenly people are intrigued, they want to learn, they don’t question the integrity of you entire being & hey they may even start participating themselvesPeople no longer think about money or scams they think about how it applies to them, do they want to collect? how do you collect something digitally? where can I get my first digital collectible? how do I show these bad boys off?In reality, the takeover of “Digital Collectibles" also known as “NFTs” is already underway.Reddit underwent a campaign minting over 10,000,000 NFTs without using the word “NFT” at all. Creating a seamless system for the user to get a new cool awesome avatar in the form of a digital collectible that they can use as their avatar on the site (& anywhere else if they so choose to save the image).

The next leg up
Reddit isn’t the only player in this digital collectable era either. Starbucks has minted NFTs already through their own digital collectibles program “Starbucks Odysee” & interest is growing by the day from people who would probably run away if they heard the word NFT at first.
Most recently announced was Amazon’s addition of an NFT marketplace directly into their app across the globe, currently serving 300 million customers. This is coming in April of 2023 & will be integrated as a “Digital Marketplace” — not an “NFT Marketplace”.
Shining Light
The minds of people who are going into this digital collectibles era are empty, ready to learn, ready to utilize what is being offered to them. The name NFT must die to turn people to use their own thinking towards “what is a digital collectible?”The more major brands incorporate digital collectibles into their consumer base, the more trust will build over time & people will see the benefits of being enabled with this new technology.
