How much longer until we’re all rich?

In the last month, banks have gone under, crypto went green for the first time in a long time, & AI seems to be taking over.No matter what’s going on however there is still one question on everyone investing in cryptocurrencies’ minds… How much longer until we’re all rich?Today I want to cover 3 topics & lines of thinking around as answers to this question, one of which I’m sure will challenge your current beliefs or thoughts.

• Gambling for Wealth vs Creating for Wealth

• Stores Of Value (Obscuring losses from Collapse)

• The New rich & UBI (free money?)

Before we dive in I want to leave this short tweet here on endurance, & the realization that if you’re going to sustain any tough period you’ll need a lot of it.

Now, onto the main events…

Gambling vs Creating

When first investing in Crypto, 9/10 its because you want to make money. Why else would you be “Investing” in anything? — then leads to the question “How much longer until I’m rich?”This line of thinking is perfectly normal, & 100% fine… even better if you have a long time horizon & aren’t going to lose all hope when a bear market inevitably hits.The only problem with investing in crypto & wanting to make money is when it becomes your plan to create wealth. Sure you could get lucky, put $1000 into the right place at the right time, gamble & have it pay off. Or maybe HODL until you are a millionaire next bull market. By all means, do whatever you want, but know this too…If you aren’t growing, you’re dying. — this seems harsh but it’s just the truth, regression starts when you start progressing, the world evolves every day its the nature of humans to evolve.Now, what can you do? Are you already doing it? Well, my main point is to stop waiting around and putting everything on pause until your crypto investments make you rich. I did this for 6 months and continued making consistent progress that really didn’t grow myself because I was on autopilot with the thought of my investments saving me.If you’re going to wait around, you might as well create something, or work towards something to up your overall odds at reaching a state of more wealth, when you stop relying on crypto prices to save your life feels a lot more purposeful knowing you have control again. (even though you never lost it)Create your path, it’s a lot harder, but the odds of you reaching the nirvana state of “wealth” is also many times higher.

Stores Of Value

Crypto, and most specifically Bitcoin, have long been held up as a store of value, like how Simba was held from the lion king over the cliff, in this case below lay a mob of hungry anti-crypto critics.Recently we’ve seen a real eye-opener for this line of belief as a banking crisis unraveled how horrible the traditional banking systems we rely on really are. This put hundreds of billions of dollars at risk & predictions of hyperinflation seem not so far out as they once were. In line with trillions of US dollars being printed at the will of one organization people have started looking elsewhere to find currencies where the emissions of currency are all 100% transparent and programmed.Through this avenue, people have found Cryptocurrency solutions, a place where they can store value in assets that have no one centralized party playing with their livelihood, people have found a new store of value.Will this answer your “When will I be rich” question? Probably not, but it puts how you may maintain wealth in the coming decades into perspective. After all, maintaining wealth is a lot better than losing what you have now.Please keep in mind that I have no idea where crypto prices will go though, & neither does your favorite investor or friend, we are all guessing, I’m just trying to give you a bigger picture to make your own guess.

Universal Basic Income

The idea is that all people everywhere (universally) would be given free money for doing absolutely nothing.To me this used to sound stupid, “yeah okay, in your dreams”… however before the last few months I also never pictured some of the technology I’ve been able to experience. AI is making huge strides, enough so they want to pause progress as it may not be safe to proceed, & Crypto is becoming sensitive to more than just degenerate gamblers… What if there is a world where all the manual labor & hands-on work was outsourced to robots & we all got paid to do nothing while pursuing the things that matter most to us? A world where all of the humans’ basic needs were solved autonomously, & all there was left is to entertain each other? A Utopia.This to me seems not nearly as far out as it used to, & along the way, I suspect we will all be rich in new ways not thought of by most people before.Universal basic income lifts people out of slumps to take a break from poverty & pursue their creative problems & curiosities.In this light, there is a new sense of being rich, not from money, but rich in the sense you can be a part of whatever you want.AI seems to lead towards this, & you may now think I’m crazy… that’s okay, possibly I am a little too idealistic… but all in all, dreaming & thinking of something like this is a major motion towards stopping gambling & starting to create.

Getting rich is hard

At the end of the day, creating wealth & getting rich is hard. You may strike gold sitting on your hands waiting to get rich, but even if you do, if you aren’t equipt with the power to create wealth you’ll likely end up blundering your luck.The hardest things in life are the most rewarding I’ve found, & you’ll probably find that too if you decide to take action outside of just waiting for prices to go up.That’s all for now, If you want to read more on the utopian from a realist view, then you can check out “Utopia for Realists” By Rutger Bregman, a book I’ve been reading which led me to talk about this.
